  • Region and grape source: Mauricio is the vineyard manager of some of the most interesting and oldest vineyard sites in Valle de Guadalupe where most of their grapes are sourced. They also source some grapes from a high elevation vineyard site in the next valley south, Ojos Negros.

    • Valle de Guadalupe - 1,100 ft - (Grenache, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mision, Chenin Blanc, Palomino)

    • Valle de Guadalupe soil type: Red clay, sandy loam

    • Ojos Negros soil type:  Red clay, granite (decomposed)

  • Winemaker: Mauricio Soler (Mexican born, graduated with a degree in enology from Fresno state and worked at lauded estates such as Roederer and Artesa before returning to his homeland in Mexico, now lives in Valle de Guadalupe)

    • The significance of the name Symmetria is basically summed up in the three words that appear on their label and characterize well the nature of their wines: "Harmony, Balance, and Heart". 

    • Most of the vineyards from which Mauricio sources his grapes are dry farmed old vines.
